Walk Paganoni Swamp

Join Leonie Stubbs and the Friends of Paganoni Swamp (FoPS) for a guided walk through one of our region’s most important conservation estates.

Paganoni Swamp is the most southern of a chain of lakes in the  Rockingham Lakes Regional Park. It protects an exceptional mix of vegetation complexes and wetlands, recognised for their regional significance. You can read more about this precious area on our website here and here.

Suburbia is closing in on all sides, bringing pressure to burn. FoPS will show the impacts of recent fires, including burns conducted too soon and the ongoing risk of arson.

The reserve also faces service‑related disturbances common across Perth’s conservation estate.

Critically endangered Honeymyrtle shrubland on limestone and a conservation‑category wetland remain vulnerable, yet few members of the public realise these areas are environmentally sensitive and legally protected.

This is an opportunity to learn from FoPS how they manage increasing pressures.

If you are coming by car the main car park is located approximately 1.4 km along Paganoni Road (accessible via Mandurah Road). The entrance is on the southern side of Paganoni Road, just after the overhead powerlines.
